We are pleased to announce the establishment of three FADMA working committees on December 7, 2023, each focusing on specific initiatives to enhance FADMA’s efforts across Asia.

The Promotion Committee, led by the Hong Kong Mould and Die Council (HKMDC), will manage the FADMA website.
The Standards Committee, led by the China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA), will focus on developing industry standards.
The Talent Committee, led by the Philippine Die & Mould Association (PDMA), will oversee projects related to human resource development, training, and technical advancement.

Hosted by the Philippine (PDMA), the FADMA meeting gathered over 20 delegates from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines. FADMA President Hector opened the session, followed by key discussions:

1. Website updates: Progress reported by the Philippines.
2. Approval of 2022 minutes and financial audit, endorsed by China.
3. Industry benchmarking: Hong Kong shared Germany-focused initiatives; China proposed collaboration and introduced its domestic standards (e.g., automotive stamping molds, digitalization).
4. 2023 plans: Philippines to host an October online meeting; Hong Kong to organize an annual conference.
5. China’s proposals: Advocated FADMA-endorsed standards, new member recruitment (e.g., Vietnam), and cost-control focus.
   Hong Kong’s Felix concluded the meeting, highlighting China’s influential role in steering FADMA’s strategic direction.

Hosted by the Malaysian (MSTMA), the FADMA meeting, chaired by Treasurer Mr. Albert, welcomed 27 delegates from eight Asian associations via video. FADMA President Wu Bingshu (China) opened the session. Key agendas included approving the 2019 minutes and financial audit, followed by leadership elections. The 2020–2023 FADMA committee was formed: Philippines as President, Hong Kong as Vice-President, South Korea as Secretary, Malaysia as Treasurer, with Japan and India as OB members. Li Yuhua (China) outlined plans for the postponed 2021 International Mold Conference. Regional reports highlighted industry trends and collaboration. Outgoing President Wu Bingshu thanked members and urged the new committee to drive Asia’s mold industry growth.

FADMA AGM hosted by Indian TAGMA Chairman Mr. D.K. Sharma in Mumbai, welcomed delegates to foster trade, collaboration, and technological advancement. Former FADMA President Mr. Namasivayam Reguraj was honored with a commemorative plaque for his contributions. Hong Kong Mold Association officially rejoined FADMA, with Chairman Mr. Yeung Chung Kit praising FADMA's global influence and highlighting Hong Kong's mould industry (2017 exports: HK3.9B; imports: HK4.5B). Malaysia’s Mr. Cheng Peng Heok presented financial reports, while India’s Mr. D. Shanmugasundaram outlined national mould developments. Attendees reviewed 2017 minutes and discussed strategies for regional cooperation in trade, technology, exhibitions, and investment.

Hosted by the Korea (KODMIC), President Mr. Park Soon-Hwang warmly welcomed delegates to the FADMA Annual Meeting in Seoul, emphasizing collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancing Asia’s mold industry. Malaysian Treasurer Mr. Cheng PengHeok presented the financial report. Key agendas included approving the 2016 FADMA meeting minutes and conducting leadership elections. China Die and Mold Industry Association (CDMIA) was re-elected as FADMA President (2017–2020), with Japan as Vice-President, South Korea as Secretary, and Malaysia as Treasurer. The secretariat remains in China. Discussions focused on enhancing regional cooperation in trade, technology, exhibitions, and industrial investment to drive Asia’s mold sector growth. The meeting reinforced shared goals for innovation and industry progress.

New Chairman elected

2014-2020 Chairman: Mr. Wu Bing Shu (CDMIA)

The Asian Mold Development Forum featured presentations from eight member countries/regions, sharing insights on their mold industries' current status, technological advancements, trade dynamics, market demands, and talent development. Delegates gained cross-border knowledge without travel, fostering regional collaboration and resource sharing. On June 4, 2014, attendees visited the DMC2014 exhibition, followed by FADMA Annual Meeting in Shanghai, attended by 28 delegates from nine regions. China Die and Mold Industry Association (CDMIA) leaders hosted the event, where FADMA Chairman delivered keynote reports. CDMIA was elected as the new FADMA president, with Japan as vice-president, South Korea as secretary, and Malaysia retaining treasurer role. The forum strengthened technical exchange and trade cooperation across Asia's mold sector.

The FADMA Asia Die & Mould Association conference commenced on the 17th at 9:00 AM in Seoul, hosted by President Mr. N. Regurai and Korean Mold Association Chairman Mr. Kim Dong-sup. With 25 delegates and staff attending, discussions covered Asian mold industry trends, Secretariat financial reports (based in Singapore), and crisis response strategies amid the global financial crisis. Representatives from Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and the Philippines shared national industry updates, while South Korea highlighted its resilient export-oriented sector (1:10 import-export ratio). Mr. Albert Cheng of Malaysia emphasized regional cooperation. China's Li Zhigang received acclaim for detailing China's mould industry development. The event concluded with a welcoming banquet at Lotte Hotel, fostering collaborative dialogue.

(2009-2014) FADMA Chairman: Mr. Namasivayam Reguraj (TAGMA)

The International Mold Association (IMA) conference emphasized Asia’s growing global influence in mold manufacturing, with Chairman Joaquim Menezes praising Asia’s contributions and urging continued progress. Leslie Povyne outlined North American challenges using data. A March 18 exhibition in South Korea featured visits to Tawa Metal (stamping) and SAMU DIES (injection molds), both small but highly efficient: Tawa’s 200 employees generate RMB 200M/year in 8,000㎡ using 6 CNC mills. Korean factories showcased export-driven productivity despite space constraints. A Seoul reception hosted by the Korean Mold Association celebrated collaboration and Asia’s future growth. Key themes: innovation, efficiency in limited spaces, and cross-regional cooperation as drivers of industry advancement.

September 21 -23, 1992, founding conference was held in Singapore. FADMA was initiated by six founding member associations from Japan, Korea, the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore. Each of these founding members sent delegations to participate in the conference. Additionally, representatives from Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia attended the latter two days of the meeting.
