This 3D printing seminar organized by the association was held at Zongwei Industrial, known as the "profit king" of the plastics industry. Zongwei Industrial has actively invested in establishing high-standard quality assurance systems and has spared no expense in setting up multifunctional laboratories and production equipment. From raw materials, mold development, production, transfer printing, to testing, the company adheres to the highest international standards—serving as an exemplary model of traditional manufacturing pursuing upgrading and continuous improvement, which has also enabled it to achieve higher profit margins than typical manufacturers.
The seminar included a factory tour featuring Zongwei's headquarters, 3D printing machines, laser texturing equipment, mold workshops, and laboratories. The event drew strong participation, with 70 attendees. Chairman Lin Jian-Xiang had already identified metal 3D printing for mold opening as a core strategy during the planning stages several years ago. Chairman Lin was exceptionally generous, allowing participants to take photos freely throughout the factory tour.
The seminar brought together lecturers from both industry and academia to share technical insights on 3D printing-related topics and practical case studies. The nearly four-hour event comprised professional presentations, a factory tour, and a concluding Q&A session. The agenda was tightly packed, with enthusiastic responses throughout. Participating industry peers reported gaining substantial value from the event.
We extend our special thanks to the Industrial Development Administration and the Industrial Technology Research Institute for their support, which enabled the association to organize this seminar, fostering industry exchange, mutual learning, and accelerating industrial transformation.
