In a significant step toward deepening cross-border industrial synergy, a delegation from the Hong Kong Mould & Die Council (HKMDC) visited the Secretariat of the China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA) in Beijing on May 21, 2025. The meeting, characterized by mutual respect and a shared vision, underscored both parties’ commitment to advancing the die and mould industry’s innovation and global competitiveness.

Led by HKMDC Chairman Mr. Felix Choi, the delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with CDMIA’s leadership team, headed by Secretary-General Ms. Qin Ke. The dialogue centered on critical areas including technology innovation, sustainability practices, talent development, and supply chain resilience. Both sides acknowledged the evolving global manufacturing landscape and emphasized the need for collaborative strategies to navigate challenges such as digital transformation, automation integration, and environmental compliance.

Ms. Qin Ke highlighted CDMIA’s ongoing initiatives in smart manufacturing standardization and vocational training programs, expressing enthusiasm for leveraging Hong Kong’s strengths in international trade, R&D, and quality management. Mr. Choi reciprocated by outlining HKMDC’s efforts in promoting high-precision tooling and digital twin technologies, noting that closer alignment with mainland counterparts would accelerate industry-wide upgrades.
