Mold Manufacturing Application Transformation & Upgrade Demonstration - Hwa Mei Optical Corporate Visit (2025.08.05)

Details

Since its establishment in 1978, Hwa Mei Optical has evolved from traditional eyewear OEM to diversified applications including sports vision, medical protection, and safety glasses. As one of Taiwan's few fully-integrated optical manufacturers, the company has not only developed its own brands but also mastered vertical integration from molds, lenses to finished products.

During this visit to Hwa Mei Optical Technology Co., Ltd., we witnessed how the company continues to evolve through core competencies and innovation, demonstrating remarkable resilience and foresight in a changing environment. The company has implemented high-efficiency precision manufacturing equipment and optometry technology, offering comprehensive services from design, R&D, production to vision testing and fitting. This integrated capability not only enhances product quality and delivery flexibility but also reflects Hwa Mei's commitment to vision improvement and protection.

Facing global supply chain disruptions, pandemic impacts, and sustainability transformation pressures, Hwa Mei has actively pursued corporate transformation. The company established a Sports Vision Experience Center, developed sustainable materials like "Ocean Waste Recycled Lenses," and enhanced brand value through sponsoring domestic/international sports events and music activities. These efforts demonstrate the company's focus beyond operational performance - aspiring to become "wings" that drive positive social change. The presentation referenced director Wei Te-Sheng and indigenous artist Siki Sufin's wing imagery, symbolizing the company's spirit of pursuing dreams together. Hwa Mei aims not only to soar itself but also to support others' aspirations.

This visit confirmed that Hwa Mei Optical's success results from decades of professional accumulation and continuous transformation. We hope each visit helps Mold & Die Association members witness how persistent improvement can lead to new heights even in challenging environments.
